The Harris family relocated to Ethiopia, where Tom, Jon, and Joel had the unique opportunity to participate in an expedition to southern Ethiopia alongside a team from the Smithsonian Institution. The mission involved geological mapping of the region, as well as coordinating outreach efforts in which teams of ophthalmologists provided care to local communities.
